Big chain pharmacies helping Student Pharmacist...

Wouldn't it be great if big chain pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens, Target, Publix, and Walmart could send a training computer software for students to practice. With all the rotations that we are doing it is hard to keep up with all the different computer systems. If we could work with these big names maybe we could get a take home software with fake patient information to practice. It would save the time of the employers to teach the students and would benefit the students by being prepared and not wasting a week learning the new system...

Just a food for thought over your morning coffee.

  1. Great idea, Alicia! If we could actually implement this at Nova, it would be more beneficial than our paper cases. I remember when I first started my 2nd year rotation community pharmacy rotation at target, my preceptor didn't even want me to learn the computer system as it would have been a complete waste of time... he was right.

  2. This is a great idea, we waste a lot of time at these rotations just learning our way around the computer system. Also if we learned this at school we could use it in pcm lab and do mock presentations with our cases!
